Dear authors, how do you feel when you type "The End"?
I just finished my latest manuscript. For me, this moment is equal parts "yay" and "oh no." First I'll review and revise. Then I read the whole novel out loud. This part can be difficult, not to mention hard on the throat, but it's incredible how much stupid-sounding stuff you can find that way.
Finally, because I need them both, I have two exceptional editors to bleed red ink all over my manuscript. Reading and integrating their changes is a character-building experience and keeps me humble. And occasionally in tears.
Any tricks or tips you'd be willing to share about how what comes after "The End"?
